Climate Control & Air Conditioning
The air-conditioning systems on these vehicles depend on precise refrigerant levels. Even a slight drop in pressure triggers a safety shutdown that prevents the compressor from engaging, guarding against component damage. Over time, refrigerant naturally dissipates, and without regular pressure checks—even in the absence of leaks—you risk complete system inoperation. Left unaddressed, this gradual decline compromises both performance and longevity.
At Kraft, every major service includes a comprehensive AC inspection:
We verify system operating pressure and overall functionality.
We visually inspect the front condensers, clearing any debris trapped in the vents.
We examine the pipe joints under the driver’s-side sill—a common weak spot prone to damage from ramp arms or jacking pads.
We check the compressor for leaks, manually test the free-wheel pulley bearing, and assess the condition of the electromagnetic clutch.
Early warning signs of low refrigerant (and oil) include unusual noises from the dashboard during operation or a loud compressor.
A fully functioning air-conditioning system is, in our view, essential to the pure enjoyment of a Porsche—enhancing comfort whether you’re facing scorching summer days or crisp winter mornings.
